We may have temporarily fallen on some hard times, but I will always be proud of what the Indians organization has been able to accomplish in the Jacobs Field era. There was a time when I believed I'd never see the Tribe play in a world series, but I know for a fact that they did, because I was there. In fact, I'm honored to be able to say that I saw the first exhibition game at Jacobs Field, the first regular season game, the first playoff game, and the first world series game. (I also would have seen the first night game, but it was snowed out. Ah, Cleveland in April.) Twice during the '95 playoffs, I drove six hours from my job in eastern Pennsylvania to watch the game, then drove back all night and taught an 8 AM class without sleeping. And I'd do it all over again.

A few of my favorite Indians links:

The best source on the 'net for daily news, info, and game reports is the Akron Beacon Journal web site.

Another good place to get info - more visually stimulating, more commentary and features: The Cleveland.com Tribefan page.

The Indians official team page is at Indians.com.

And finally, the official Sobeck World Series counter:

I have been alive for        years with no World Series Titles for the Tribe.
