– Not to be outdone (see below), it's a new car for the wife.

– Spring Break 2007, and our third voyage on the Carnival Destiny.
Photos coming when I get a chance.

Puppy update!

Holy crap... she's as big as Large Coney! This was taken at five months.

This was taken right after she got home from surgery. Poor puppy.

And the next day, she was fine. Damn, it must be nice to be young.

A new car for me! Updates coming soon on the puppy and recent travel.
11/29/06
– Near the end of a very difficult year, some new life as the Sobeck's
welcome a new member of the family. Macleod (a golden retriever in case
you can't tell) was born on October 2, and is about 8 weeks old in this
picture.
10/20/06
– More heartbreak for the Sobeck family. Our wonderful Labrador Retriever
Jack passed away nine days short of his fourteenth birthday. Although Jack
only lived with us for about half of his life, it seemed like so much longer.
He was the sweetest big dog you can imagine, and had a puppy-like quality
that he never outgrew. We'll miss Jack terribly, but now he can be with
the sister that he idolized. Click here

10/13/06 – Fall break in Aruba! We were fortunate to stay at the beautiful
Renaissance Resort and Casino in the capital city of our favorite Island,
Oranjestad. I never thought the blue collar kid that never set foot in a
plane until age 25 would one day make a third visit to Aruba.
8/25/06 – If you see me walking around like I lost my best
friend, I did. After battling back from various illnesses over the summer,
my beloved Golden Retriever PJ, better known as Moose, passed away shortly
after 11 PM on a Friday night. She was laying in her favorite sleeping spot
at the foot of our bed, and Cat and I were holding her at the very end.
It was a horribly traumatic experience for us, but about the best possible
way to go for her, which makes the pain worthwhile. Moose and I were about
as close as members of two different species can possibly be, and I can't
imagine life without her. It will go on, of course, but there will always
be an empty spot. Click here
for my tribute to the Moose.
