7/13/09 – Some awful news to report: Cat's mom Helen passed away unexpectedly. She had been in the hospital for quite a long time after colon surgery, but was doing much better and had returned home just Saturday. Please keep Cat in your thoughts as she goes through a very difficult time.

7/10 through 12– Our annual pilgrimage to Put-in-Bay was held. This year was one of the smallest turnouts ever, with the crowd consisting of Me and Cat, our friend Larry and his wife Deana, and of course, Mike "Money" Trissel. Man are we getting way too old for the bay...

6/19/09 – My wonderful publisher, McGraw-Hill (and in particular editorial director Stewart Mattson) gave us a wonderful gift. I was in town for a business meeting, and Stew was able to get front row seats at Wrigley Field for the Cubs - Indians game for me and Cat, along with Stew and my good friend Dawn. It was a great day in spite of the torrential rain that delayed the start of the game. (Come to think of it, that gave us more bar time before the game.)

5/09 – Another successful food drive concludes at work. Even in these tough times, I was able to collect about 2,200 pounds of food and $275. Since I started keeping track in 2004, I've collected almost 19,000 pounds and almost $3,000. The proceeds for this drive went to the Open Door Food Pantry in Hamilton. Food from the Christmas drive goes to the Shared Harvest Food Bank in Fairfield, where I'm on the board of directors.

3/29/09 – Fact that I'm excited about, but nobody else will care, but it's my frigging website and if you don't like it, don't read it: I finally got the iPhone that I've been wanting for a LONG time.

3/09 – Another fun cruise to report, this time with our neighbors Ron and Pat, and Cat's parents Tom and Helen. We left from Tampa and visited Honduras, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Belize in some order that's a little fuzzy right now. Pictures someday when I have free time (he said jokingly).

Puppy update! Our little Bear grew at an astonishing rate, and by the age of six months was already as tall as her big sister. As you can see below, at the age of 8 months she's grown into a beautiful young lady.

I've been absolutely working my ass of on two large book projects, and the end of January brought some much-needed relief in the form of a weekend trip to sunny Florida. The highlight was drinking around the world at Epcot – pictures when I get done with the books.

1/09 – My latest book is out – check it out here.

8/10/08 – Please say hello to the newest member of our family, Tessa. She was born on June 19, and is about seven weeks old in this picture.

7/6/08 – Very sad news today, as my best buddy and constant companion Large Coney passed away at the age of 14. Cat and I are heartbroken, as those that know how much our puppies mean to us will easily understand. Macleod is having a hard time dealing with it as well. Please think of us, and please look at my tribute to Coney.

3/08 – Spring Break 2008; a seven-day cruise aboard the Crown Princess to San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Grenada, Bonaire, and Aruba. Pictures and maybe some short video clips shortly.

3/08 – My two new books are out! Woo Hoo! See details here and here.

2/14/08 – A four day trip to beautiful Tucson, AZ for the Sobeck's, courtesy of my wonderful publisher, McGraw-Hill. I love those guys! Pictures coming soon, and there's some beauties.

2/9/08 – YAY FOR ME! The first of my new books is out! Check it out here. Does this make me cooler than you? Well, I don't know who you are, but... yes.

1/08 – Finally, I finished the four books I was working on in 2007, and only two weeks after 2007 ended! Links to the finished products will be available after they publish.

12/28/07 – New Year's trip to see Cat's parents in Florida. We managed to squeeze in a month's worth of drinking and eating one day with our friends Larry and Deana. Ugh.

10/2/07 – Our little baby (in bandanna) celebrates her first birthday with her sister Large Coney and littermate Casanova.
